Morta was a rescue mare for quite awhile. She was purchased at an auction that was selling off captured Mustangs. Little did the staff know that Morta had been through a terrible accident. One evening her herd was caught in a flash flood. Morta was only a foal when this occurred, but the thought is always on her mind. She was the only survivor, and she had to watch the rest of her herd members drowning. Ever since that night, Morta is terrified of water of any kind. Rain, water jumps, rivers, etc. After Sarah gave Morta a clean bill of health, Kingsley began her training. Cross country has been difficult for her (because of the occasional water jumps and bad weather) but all in all, he usually has her pretty well under control. She loves being outside, so being cooped up in an arena stresses her out constantly, which is why Kingsley decided on cross country rather than show jumping.
